TEHRAN, Sept. 5 (MNA) -- Iran handed Asian Senior Men’s Weightlifting Championship to Kazakhstan over a positive doping test of the +105 kg lifter.

Rashid Sharifi tested positive for performance-enhancing substance last month and handed back his gold medals.
Iran finished in first place at the 40th Asian Senior Men’s Weightlifting Championship in Taldykorgan in May with 583 points, but the organizers deducted 75 points from the team.
Iran has sunk to third with 508 points behind Kazakhstan and China with 555 and 551 points respectively.
